Website rules
Website terms
Effective August 27, 2026. These terms govern use of steeldirectusa.com and its project-planning tools. Transaction-specific sale terms are issued separately with each proposal.
Planning tools, not final engineering
The visual builder, templates, drawings, dimensions, colors, and catalog content are project-planning aids. They are not stamped engineering, a permit set, a fabrication order, or a representation that a configuration is suitable for a particular site. Final specifications are controlled by the accepted written proposal and applicable project documents.
Materials-only scope
Unless an accepted proposal expressly states otherwise, Steel Direct USA supplies quoted materials only. Site work, foundations, permits, inspections, structural anchor bolts, unloading, erection, installation, utilities, and installation workmanship remain the customer’s responsibility. Door units, windows, storefront systems, and other third-party items are excluded unless expressly listed.
Quotes and orders
A website submission is a request for review, not an order. Prices, taxes, freight, lead times, availability, engineering, inclusions, exclusions, payment milestones, cancellation rights, warranty terms, and delivery responsibilities are established only in the versioned proposal accepted by the customer. No supplier order is released solely because a design or request was submitted.
Customer information
You are responsible for providing accurate contact, jobsite, access, dimension, opening, and intended-use information and for reviewing every proposal revision before approval. Changes after approval may affect price, schedule, engineering, freight, and cancellation rights.
Product information and availability
Product descriptions, images, finishes, and colors are representative. Screens and lighting may display colors differently. Product specifications, manufacturing availability, servicing location, warranty eligibility, and delivery options can change and must be verified for the accepted order.
Acceptable use
Do not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, upload malicious or unlawful files, submit false identities or requests, scrape protected records, or use the project tools to infringe another party’s rights. Steel Direct USA may block abusive activity and preserve relevant security records.
Separate sale terms
The legal seller name, governing sale terms, warranty handoff, risk-of-loss terms, cancellation and refund rules, limitation language, and dispute process for a transaction will appear in the applicable proposal or sales agreement. If these website terms conflict with an accepted sales agreement, the accepted agreement controls the sale.
